Malaria is spread by mosquitoes, which transmit the parasites that cause the infection, usually in tropical and subtropical parts of the world.

  5. Aug 29, 2011 It was like no hair was growing in! I noticed about 6 weeks after starting plaquenil, my hair started growing back in, I had a lot of new sprouts. I didn't see your list of meds. It seems some of the other drugs cause the hair to fall out such as methotrexate. good luck to you- It's bad enough to feel bad but also lose your hair is no fun.

It has been reported as an side effect of Plaquenil - hair loss or bleaching of the hair, if you think its too bothersome, please ask your doc/pharmacist to prescribe some med which is more comfortable for your system. Take care, be well, please. zoofolk Sep 15, 2018 Lupus can cause the hair on your scalp to gradually thin out, although a few people lose clumps of hair. Loss of eyebrow, eyelash, beard and body hair also is possible. In most cases, your hair will grow back when your lupus is treated. But some people with lupus develop round discoid lesions on the scalp. Plaquenil is supposed to help with hair loss, not contribute to it. I would also suggest giving it some more time especially since the side effects of plaquenil are supposed to lessen after a few months of use.
